Green Wedding Shoes Feature | Tropical Oasis Elopement Inspiration

Yellowhead Brewery –  Elopement Inspiration

I had been dreaming for so long about putting together a shoot as special as this one at the yellowhead brewery. I slowly gathered, the most amazing team, people that I not only admire but I had always wanted to work and create with.  I am so very excited to finally share that we are currently being featured on GREEN WEDDING SHOES with this incredible Tropical Oasis Elopement and intimate wedding inspiration.

As we all know boho style and intimate weddings are becoming more and more attractive to couples and I wanted to take some not so typical locations, like the yellowhead brewery and give it a new look. I want to inspire couples to see things with new eyes and think outside of the box when it comes to their wedding or elopement venue. Edmonton has long winter months and our fall and or springs can be rather short, so why not creating your own little tropical oasis inside?. It is easier than you may think, just gather the right professionals to make your dream come true.

This shoot stemmed from the thought of having two vagabond hearts celebrating in an intimate space, like the yellowhead brewery,  reading vows to each other with their favourite beer on hand,  eating fresh fruit and cake. Bringing the springtime desert vibes indoors with some cacti and all the amazing tropical greenery like Monsteras, Banana leaf, palms among others that were all delightfully styled by Janine and her assistant Danielle from Fabloomosity. Adding candles made the setting warm and inviting, along with the amazing Moroccan rugs from Something Borrowed Rentals, to keep things cosy and intimate.

Bridal Hats and Bohemian Brides Trend

Janine, floral wizard and owner of Fabloomosity, made my southwestern hat vision a reality, as we know bridal hats are trending and I wanted to add a different and colourful touch to the bride. Harriet is also wearing the amazing poppy stardust gown, from the one and only Rue De Seine one of the most sought-after bohemian bridal style designers. Catlin, The groom is in a touch of vintage style, with the unique look by Mr Derk. All Jewelry and accessories are handmade by local artists, enhancing the look and showcasing our local talents.

I have a deep love of macrame and I knew I wanted to incorporate it in a different way and then add the creative floral design into the mix. We also added Himmelis for prosperity in the lover’s new path and the pampa grass moon added a special creative touch to this tropical oasis elopement.

The inspiration for this shoot was definitely for people who choose to lead an unconventional life: travellers, artists and bohemians at heart…like dare I say, myself. Combining aspects of the desert and tropical greenery, colours, and patterns from many walks of life and many areas of the world. I wanted to show them that they can create a ceremony area full of life, culture, and interesting items that embrace the carefree, the relaxed, and the unusual artefacts that look like they have been collected and gathered over time.

Head over to their incredible blog to see…I hope you love it as much as I do.
