What you should know about engagement photography…

If I just say that engagement photography is photos of your engagement, well,  I would be doing you, myself and other local photographers a disservice. Engagement photography is such an important part of the whole wedding planning experience. It is also your first family heirloom if we could say so.

There is so much I love about engagement sessions, it is the perfect time for you and your partner to showcase your personalities, to shine and enjoy some time together in a different way. It is almost like a first date…yes, you will feel all the butterflies, you get to plan what you will be wearing, to look your best, and feel your best.

So you are engaged, now WHAT?. Well, besides celebrating, it is time to have fun with a photo session! YESSSSS it can be so much fun.

But where do you start? I know,  I hear ya, it can be a challenge to find a photographer that will capture WHO you TWO really are as a couple and as individuals and what makes you the perfect pair. But thankfully, you don’t have to rely on those predictable cheesy poses and overdone locations. There are a handful of things you can do to make sure your photos turn out perfectly one of a kind and feel right.

Your Next Staycation

Your next trip together (engagement-moon) can be for sure one of the most exciting things you do before the special day…and it doesn’t have to be far, it can be just around the corner. Yeah, that hotel you have heard of? the new spa in Jasper? well, why not enjoy a weekend away with your lover and kill two birds with one stone?. Enjoying a new place and get some portraits taken there too?

Timing

Sunrise or Sunset??

Both are my favourites because of the perfect colours and light. Either time will make for an intimate feel in your photographs…it is worth it getting up so early, it will be a whole new experience.
